Summer days in August are way too good to pass up!
Here at Wapato Point Resort we think beach days are the best way to take advantage of the sunshine and enjoy time with the ones you love. Here are some tips and tricks for making the most of our sand and sun!
Where to go
One of the many reasons to visit Wapato Point Resort is our stunning waterfronts. We have beaches and lake access at practically every corner. On both sides of Wapato Point Resort, you can lay out those beach towels and set up camp for the day. Near the beach volleyball courts is a long and expansive beach. At this spot you are able to gaze upon the lake and look at Chelan. Head on over to the opposite side and for views of the beautiful Cascades and maybe even rent a jet skis for some extra fun!
Tips for Sun
North Central Washington summers can be much hotter than people realize. With temperatures peaking in the low hundreds, it can be easy to lose a battle with our bright-shining sun. Make sure you bring sunscreen that is easy to reapply after a few swims in the lake. Don’t be afraid to sit in the shade every once in a while too. We know you’re working on that tan but sometimes your skin is no match for those rays. Sitting under a tree or wearing a hat will not take away your glow, but your skin will be thankful.
Food to Pack
When packing snacks, it’s best to remember (especially for kiddos) that playing in the sun for hours on end can drain you of energy. First and foremost, don’t skimp on water. August heat can be intense so you’ll want to make sure you’re constantly filling your body with hydration. You’ll also want to load up on nutrient-dense yet easy-to-pack essentials. Consider things like apples, granola bars, PB&J sandwiches, bananas, or anything that will turn into great fuel.
Spend Time in the Sand
As August unfolds with glorious heat, visit our sandy waterfronts. There is nothing like putting your feet in the sand, relaxing, and taking a dip in our water. Head to the shores prepared and you will be set for an amazing vacation day you won’t soon forget!
