More than Just Wine: our Valley’s Guide to Other Tasting Experiences

Pouring a glass of wine

Lake Chelan is filled with over 30 wineries offering tastings, but some of us aren’t entirely as enthralled with wine as others. So if you are visiting Lake Chelan and need a tasting experience catered to a different need, then we’ve got your answer. Try these six businesses scattered throughout the Valley for various tastes, from handcrafted cider to beer!

Located on the outskirts of Manson, you will find Rootwood Cider’s orchard location. Surrounded by apple orchards, here you will be able to taste some of Lake Chelan’s finest ciders made directly from the apples that encircle you!

Bonus: Lake Effect is the downtown Manson location for Rootwood Cider. While Lake Effect still offers a smattering of local wines to buy, they also provide several hard ciders, microbrews, and a full food menu! Here, everyone in your group can find something they like.

Steelhead is the perfect place to grab a delicious cider or beer before dinner. This hidden gem boasts over twenty cider taps, beer, champagne and more! Take yourself back to the 80s when you head upstairs to play a fun round of Nintendo 64 with your partner or new friends!

The Lake Chelan Brewery is, of course, best known for its beer selection. Also situated on the main street of downtown Manson, this brewpub offers beer on tap or from bottles. Try their in-house selections produced on a seven-barrel system in which they’ve recently added a delicious IPA!

Another great place to find in-house or other on-tap beer, Stormy Mountain Brewery, does not disappoint. If you happen to be staying in the valley on a Wednesday night, make sure that you visit this spot for a fun round of family trivia starting at 6pm!

While the Lake Chelan Winery is best known for its wine, they also produce a delicious tasting cider. Visit their fun tasting room or their sister winery, Wapato Point Cellars, to purchase a bottle of their Washington Gold Cider. You might even find a bottle or two at your local grocery store!

ChelanCraft Cider is open for cider tastings and bottles to go! Try their Blueberry, Cherry Vanilla, Ginger Pear, or Lemon varietals. Like one? Take a bottle to go as you continue exploring the valley.
