A Weekend in Manson: Coffee, Wine, and Lake Time

There is never a bad time to be in the Lake Chelan Valley, but there is something truly life giving about a weekend in Manson. Whether the hills are blanketed in winter white, glowing with spring blossoms, or sun-drenched in the heat of summer, the rhythm remains the same: Coffee, Wine, and Lake Time.

If you’re planning your 48-hour escape to the Point, here is how to master the perfect Manson itinerary, no matter the season.

The Caffeine Kickstart

Every great morning starts with a view and a brew. We mean the caffeinated kind. In Manson, our coffee scene is as much about the community as it is about the beans. The best part is that our favorite local coffee spots are within easy walking distance. You can leave the car keys behind and get a natural walking adrenaline boost along with your caffeine kick.

  • The Coffee Cabin: A local favorite for a reason. Grab a seasonal latte and a breakfast sandwich to-go. In the spring and summer, it’s the perfect companion for a walk through the blooming orchards; in the cooler months, there’s nothing better than wrapping your hands around a warm cup while watching the mist rise off the water.
  • Local Grounds Coffee Co: Step into the heart of downtown Manson for a dose of local flavor. Whether you’re grabbing a signature drink to fuel your morning stroll or lingering over a pastry, the vibe here is pure Northwest hospitality. It’s the ultimate spot to wake up with the town and plan your day’s adventures.

The Wine Wander

Manson is the heart of the Lake Chelan AVA, and our wineries are world-class year-round. In May, you’re witnessing the “bud break” in the vineyards, but every season offers a unique tasting experience.

  • Tipsy Canyon Winery: Known for its incredible patio and high-elevation views. Whether you’re sitting under the sun or chatting in the tasting room, the wine tastes like pure luxury.
  • Succession Wines: This spot perfectly captures the Manson vibe—sophisticated yet totally relaxed. It’s the kind of place where you can spend hours chatting with the staff and learning the story behind every bottle.
  • Wapato Point Cellars: Conveniently located right on our grounds! It’s the perfect transition from “tasting” to “dining.” The Winemaker’s Grill is a must-visit for a cozy dinner after a day of exploring.

Pure Lake Time

The lake is the soul of our resort, and its beauty changes like a kaleidoscope throughout the year.

  • The Shoreline Stroll: Our peninsula offers miles of paths. In the spring, you’re surrounded by the scent of apple blossoms; in the summer, the energy is electric with boaters; and in the winter, the lake takes on a glass-like serenity that is incredibly peaceful.
  • On the Water: The water is always the main character here, and we make it easy to get out there with on-site options. Right on property, Shoreline Watercraft has a full fleet available for those looking for a little more horsepower. You can rent jet skis, pontoon boats for the whole family, or sleek ski boats for a day of thrills.
  • The Kiosk: Keep your eyes out for when the Kiosk opens for the season. You can head down to the beach to rent kayaks, stand-up paddleboards, canoes, and pedal boats for a peaceful afternoon on the bay. If you’re looking for land-based fun, the Kiosk is also your go-to for bicycles, tennis racquets, and even fishing poles for our stocked trout pond. Stay in the know by checking our website and social media for openings!
  • The Best of Both Worlds: If you want that “lake feel” with total comfort, our indoor heated pool is open year-round. You can float in the warmth while looking out through the floor-to-ceiling windows at the sparkling blue water of the bay.

A Note for Your May Visit:

If you’re joining us this month, you’re arriving just in time for the Manson Apple Blossom Festival (May 8-9)! It’s a weekend filled with parades, street fairs, and a celebration of the agricultural roots that make our valley so special.

No matter when you arrive, the coffee is hot, the wine is chilled, and the lake is waiting.
